Today's Thoughts...
Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
As the old hymn says: “My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus' blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus' name. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; ALL other ground is sinking sand.”
There is no other name; no other Savior; no other gospel; no other glory! At the cross, Jesus purchased salvation, redeemed rebels, and crushed Satan. Glory to His name!
Today you'll lose a big or little battle with sin, but you won't lose your salvation because it's based on what Jesus did not what you do. Your salvation is not kept secure by you holding onto Jesus, but by Him holding onto you—and He will never let you go. The ultimate issue in salvation is not do I possess Jesus Christ, but does He possess me?
Today's Prayer...
Father, there is truly no other name that we can worship or go to, not just for salvation, but for life, and life eternal. Thank you that your Son, Jesus Christ, fully divine and fully human, bore the wrath for us on the cross, was buried, and literally rose again three days later. He ascended to heaven and is coming again. Wow! Who are we that we should partake in this? Nothing, Lord, to be sure. We are sinners – yet, through your Son, now heirs of the promised Gospel. Thank you, Lord – in your Son’s name, amen.
