Tower View Baptist Church strives to be a Gospel-centered, relationship-driven church—committed to knowing Christ, growing in Him, serving Him, and sharing His love with others. We are seeking a Senior Pastor who is passionate and dedicated to reaching people for Jesus and leading His church in a closer and deeper walk with Him.
Purpose
The pastor is to be the spiritual leader of the church. He is responsible to the Lord and the church to
primarily proclaim the gospel and teach the Bible. He is also to engage in pastoral care, provide
supervisory leadership in all areas and administrate the paid and volunteer staff.
Qualifications
Candidates for this position will meet the following qualifications:
- Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check
- Must have a Master of Divinity from a Southern Baptist Seminary or equivalent education and experience
- Must be licensed and ordained as a Southern Baptist pastor in good standing or willing to do so
- Must provide testimony of salvation
- Have a strong conviction for expository preaching
- Must exhibit professionalism and effective communication in all areas of employment, demonstrated by a well-groomed appearance, conscientious work ethic, courteous communications, and a personal accountability in the work environment
- Must maintain appropriate confidentiality as it pertains to proprietary and confidential information
- Must be willing and eligible to become a member of Tower View Baptist Church.
- Must adhere to the mission of the church, its covenant, and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
Hours
The position will be full time with regular hours in office as well as off site work hours.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct worship services; coordinating with the worship team to provide a cohesive service that is spiritually fulfilling and doctrinally sound.
- Prepare and deliver weekly sermons and lead in observance of the church ordinances.
- Demonstrate and encourage a zealous prayer life.
- Lead the church in an effective evangelism program and in a caring ministry for those in the church and community.
- Provide pastoral care for members of the congregation, including visiting the sick, counseling those in need, and offering support during times of crisis.
- Perform wedding ceremonies, conduct funerals, and provide counseling sessions as required.
- Work with church leadership and staff to establish and execute a vision and strategic plan for the church’s growth and leadership development.
- Facilitate the church’s work to clarify, update, and maintain official church documents.
- Cooperate with the local association, state convention and Southern Baptist Convention leadership in matters of mutual interest and concern. Represent the church in civic matters.
- Act as moderator of the church business meeting. (Unless someone else is elected as moderator).
- Work alongside the associate pastor, deacons, church officers, and committees as they perform their assigned responsibilities.
- Serve as administrator of the paid church staff.
- Supervise the work of the ministry staff; both volunteer and paid ministers and directors.
